We apply a similar aphorism with the same attributes in broadcasting the mention. When converting media analog to digital data platforms, customers assume that the little erroronic nuances of the master source will be corrected in the conversion process. the phrase garbage in, garbage out is always the explanative. The "gospel" is what the client want's to think the results are... sorry it ain't so. In a live broadcat chain, I always remeber what Howard Zuckerman said as he sat in his network control room during Live Aid back in the ealry 80's. There was an issue with the sync timing of the production truck at Chicago's Soldier Field, just one of many remote stadium venues being integrated into the overall global broadcast production. While the director in Chicago wouldn't specifically admit to the problem, Howard, out of frustration of getting a straight answer from him, pronounced back into the 4 wire shoutdown circuit (PL comm system) to all the venues and said "so what you are telling us is that the problem is leaving you fine, is that correct?". To which the Chicago director answered "that is correct".
