The argument about streamlining your dry suit is simply pure bullshit that some morons spiel to sound intelligent, surely you don’t buy into this lie. Your dry suit should not be your only source of buoyancy control. You need balance with weights/wings/suit/tanks to make the package work and the package changes as we change tanks/suits/cameras/underwear/etc, that’s why it is important to practice and to be able to adjust if needed. In the winters, I want my gear to be a little negative so that I can carry a little more air in my suit for warm, in the summers I just wear the shell and need little or no air, so I shed a few weights to compensate. But more to the point, the wing provides the lift/buoyancy control needed. The suit is a bad back-up as it does not dump air as rapidly as required, but it is possible to use
