Just a reminder (no link) about the public Memorial this Sunday, 1Oct06 for diving pioneer Billy Meistrel (Co founder of Dive'n'Surf and Body Glove). The landside memorial will be held @ 11:00 am at the Seaside Lagoon in Redondo Beach, it will be preceded by a 9:00am traditional paddle~out from Avenue C in Redondo Bch @ the Esplanade, to the Vessel "Disappearance" (the Body Glove boat)Captained by his (Jack Lalanne like) brother Bobby. Surfers, Divers, & Boaters are invited. For those not familiar, a paddle out is an ocean tradition to honor a waterman/women after their passing, and involves a group who venture from shore or boat to gather in the water in a circle for prayers and recollections...I swear I'm weepin' as I write this, I love those two Ol' farts!
