yes, open it up look at the rubber stopper, pull it out wash it off, dry it, put it back in. Wash off the spring, dry it off, reassemble valve. Pretty simple really, most people never do it. You can just look at the rubber and see salt crystals on it, or discoloration of the rubber due to oxidation.
