I know I've seen posts on this, but her it is again because it's lobster season. I tried to answer my question with a search, but did not find as many solutions as I remember there being here before.

How does one transport live lobsters, or should I freeze them prior to transport?

Here are the cicumstances I will be facing: Return from a one day dive trip with my seven huge lobsters at about 6 pm (optimism). Travel a short distance to a hotel room where I will sleep that same night. Get up about 0800 the next morning and travel back to my home in Las Vegas, about a 4.5-5 hour ride depending on traffic. Total time for the lobsters out of water will be about 16-18 hours. Can this be done or would it be better to tail them and put them on ice?

Thanks in advance for your reply. HD.
