HD....My experience is that lobsters can stay alive 18 hrs or more if they are healthy to beging with (ie. not injured or recently molted) and are kept damp and cool. Keep them out of the sun!...keep them shaded and covered with a damp towel soaked in sea water. No fresh water! Even at that some may die for unknown reasons, therefore if they are going to be frozen anyway, tailing them and keeping them on ice is sure to keep them fresh for eating. Good luck.....Labugman
