Merry and I played hooky today and headed to Laguna Beach, where reports from the past two days said 30 feet vis. They were right. From the cliffs we could see nearly every reef in Laguna. We headed to Shaw's Cove in search of the Tylodina fungina and Hopkin's Rose nudibranchs. We found one Tylenol and a couple dozen Roses. The surge in the crevice was strong, but fun as long as we stayed off the bottom.
We had several Garibaldis nipping, clucking and banging into us to scare us away from their wall. Another great thing about the main reef at Marineland is...no Garibaldis. :)
The vis was 30'+, temp at depth was 61F and we stayed down for 96 minutes in order to circumnavigate the reef.
