Reefseekers have adopted a OW curriculum that does not include physical beach dives as mandatory activities. The issue is that so many folks have been tumbled so badly on some of their very first SCUBA experiences, that they are sullied to the entire experience.

Been there.

So they offer an addendum free beach dive class for those more adventurous.

I personally know folks who gave up the sport just for this reason.

I agree with this stance.
