Get a cheap room @ the Hermosa Hotel, or upgrade to the Atwater, both are diver friendly hotels with gear storage.

Rent tanks/weights/cart @ Scuba Luv, or Cat Divers Supply @ the point if needed.

Don't over pak your dive/gear bags with more than 70 Lbs limit @ Cat Express.

Use Catalina Baggage to haul your gear out to the point from the Express terminal, includes gear pick up, return and storage for a 1 day excursion.

Have a 7mm suit, hood and gloves. Our thermographs say prepare for sub 60* temps below 30' deep, but we are having a mild 'El Nino' year so it may be a little warmer. We had 66* degrees @ 60' last week, Ahhhhh! Weather permitting, Dec. is beautiful @ the Island.
