I looked at the board this evening and have not seen anything posted about Captain Kim Lancaster.
So I would like to be the first to congratulate her from Mate to Master. She has helped run my boat for years along with the “Cee Ray” to accumulate the time to go from Mate to Master. These are not my terms but very specific legal terms from the Coast Guard. And this now gives us (Captains) the right to through her into the water as part of her induction to Captain hood.
All serious aside, this is a very big step for her, as it is for anyone trying to get their license, and I applaud her. She is one of the very select few ladies that can say they are Masters.
