Respect to Eric! Game hunters of all types also use a cool trick to make a catch look bigger on film by holding the catch in 'outstretched arms' towards the camera's lense to affect a larger game image contrasted against the hunters torso or body.

...on a side note, I'm kinda starting to question the practice of catch and release, I mean what's the point if you really aren't gonna eat'em, why not take down a camera instead of a game bag? It's not like we're capturing an Architeuthis...
