I've wondered about that whole rule of thumb about leaving the big breeders down there. People say that they are the succesful ones and are passing on healthy genes to a new population, but it seems that removing the top bugs would leave spots open for the smaller bugs to take their place, as well as contribute more genetic diversity to the population, not to mention that larger bugs consume more resources than a smaller bug would need to survive. (Not that there's a shortage of lobster food out there.)
