The real question is- if the economy is THAT dependent on oil, so much so that we are making ridiculous sacrifices to get what is someday going to run out, why aren't we making changes to make the economy into something that can run on alternative or renewabale sources?
I'm not a treehugger or anything, but being dependent on oils is obviously problematic and stupid. Sure, we're here to use the earth's resources, but it has to be done wisely and with care.
