Ross is right: 2M horizontal resolution is pretty good. I've been
amazed at what I can see.

Decent SW is going to cost some money. I use Global Mapper 8, and
am quite happy with it, esp. with the support which is superb or
better. Ross uses something else. The free software is worth
what you pay for it. In particular ArcExplorer and AEJEE (ArcExplorer
Java Edition for Education) are slow, and quite flake. Of those
two AEJEE is the better of the two, but I never ever use it since
I bought Global Mapper. You can download an evaluation copy of
Global Mapper for free. It will do most everything EXCEPT read
back in the file you created. You CAN read it back in after you
buy -- I was very pleased to find the GM would read a file I
created the first time I evaluated it two years earlier.
