Open Spaces on Dive Trips this Weekend Santa Barbara Island and Catalina Island
Saturday January 13, 2007 - Santa Barbara Island on the Great Escape- Reef Seekers is doing our first trip of the year to Santa Barbara on the Great Escape. Board Friday night after 9PM, briefing at 10:45PM, leave between 1 and 2AM, start diving around 7:15AM and get in 3-4 dives plus some great food and lots of fun. Saturday January 13, 2007 - Santa Barbara Island on the Pacific Star - Board Friday night at 9:00pm for an early morning departure to Santa Barbara Island, the smallest of the California Channel Islands. SBI is well known for it’s abundance of wildlife, primarily sea birds and marine mammals. This island boasts a large rookery of California sea lions that have grown accustomed to boats and will generally come looking for divers entering the water. With typically high visibility, divers are treated to a spectacular view of the underwater life, where bright sea stars, spiny sea urchins, and brilliant orange garibaldi are common.

Sunday, January 14, 2007 - Catalina on the Great Escape - After many, many requests from the diving community Great Escape Charters is pleased to announce the return of the open boats on the weekend. We will offer at least one open boat per month. This weekend we have a trip to Cat front side with no classes from any shop. Weather permitting we will enjoy some great diving. The cost for this trip is only $120.00 and includes 3 dives, food and air. Many old customers have signed up for this trip, along with many new divers, the crew and I look forward to meeting all of you. |
