I was there and witnessed everything (ps: I am the only witness!) We knew that we might hit a few rough spots on the way to Catalina. I consider myself a reasonably prudent diver. I opted not to assemble any of my gear ahead of time and to make sure it was all secured. In addition to my scuba stuff I had two camera systems to think about. None of my stuff had a problem.

The bungee cords were all brand new and working just fine.

We have all been on boats that hit rough water and have seen bungeed tanks fall over and off benches - usually with no damage to the tank or to a person (Franks tank was sitting on the floor by the way). It boils down to personal responsibility. If you are worried about your stuff breaking - don't leave it set up. Put it where you think it will be safe.

Dear Mr. LA Law. Divers have brains. If we don't use them, it is no ones fault but our own.
