"Personally, I don't care if the deck hand, the divemaster, the Captain or the cook came by and "secured" my gear; as far as I'm concerned, I am the only one responsible for stowing MY gear and making sure MY things are on board and are where they won't get damaged or lost until I need them."

Haven't a clue who SLANG is, but that's the bottom line.
