The Wreck Divers catch grief for removing things people left in the ocean, and the Statue Divers catch it for putting things there. I don't have much problem with deliberately junking regular dive spots - those artifacts are going to be gone in a few years, or unrecognizable. And they may provide shelter for critters along the way.
