Scott you are wrong about the new DOT regs.(see tom's link). You are also wrong about Shops making money on tanks. I use to sell Al tanks for 120.00, they cost me 109.90 before shipping (tanks have always been used as lost lenders in the dive industry).
To be truthful I didn't care if anyone bought a tank or not (all they did was take up floor space).
The mark up on Steel was a little better but not much.
The lack of knowledge of some of the people in this industry has always amazed me. Also this industry seems to have some of the cheapest customers of any sport. I'm happy to be out of it!
