Off the beach. It was my second time doing a surf entry with the camera, and my last attempt was when it was totally flat, so I had a few false starts getting through what were still pretty measly waves! A bit embarrasing to get rolled by a measly waist-higher. :(

Once I got the hang of holding onto the camera, though, all went well, and the exit was a breeze. My husband, however, managed to flood the battery compartment of one of his strobes. Rechargable batteries plus seawater = an explosion of black goo. This is why I'm not a huge fan of taking cameras through the surf zone - only the promise of nifty squid action could lure me to risk it!
