"Sat. 2-10-07 Diving Accident at La Jolla Shores

As we were coming out of the water at Vallecitos this morning, we could see the Lifeguard trucks with their emergency lights on, doing CPR on an unconscious diver on the beach, just North of the bathrooms.

We observed an unidentified diver with white doubles emerge from the water and hasten over to the area where the victim was being worked on, but we couldn't tell if he was involved, or just curious.

I was parked on Vallecitos and they loaded the victim into an ambulance at the bathrooms, about 6 ft. from where I was parked and removing my gear, but I was unable to get any details from anyone in the area.

As I was leaving, one guy approached me and said he saw them bagging the victim, after CPR, which would indicate she was breathing.

When the ambulance left, it was not using its emergency lights and siren.

That's all I know at this point.

While I was returning to my truck from the bathrooms, I almost collided with the Channel 8 KFMB camera man, but he offered no information and I have yet to see anything on the local news.

Will post if I do.

Mikey"
