I once had busted blood vessels in my eyes from diving.
About five years ago I was trying to dive with a with a severe sinus infection and blocked sinuses. My sinus were so blocked they did not want to clear. I was descending in a current and wanted to get down quickly so I held my nose and blew especially hard as I descended. After the dive I had busted blood vessels in both eyes.
After studying the cause and discussing it with my physician I believe it was the trying so hard to clear my sinuses and ears that busted the blood vessels in my eyes. I now just do not force things that hard when I clear. If I can not clear easily, I abort the dive.
My doctor also told me to avoid diving while my eyes healed. They took about two weeks to clear up. For the first week I wore shades at work because one eye was especially ugly looking.
