We used to launch at Clipper Yacht Harbor in Sausalito.
HMB is about 1 nm farther than Sausalito, but:

- You don't have a 3 mile no-wake zone to get out of Sausalito
- You don't have the slow snotty stuff going out the gate and over
the bar.
- Less exposure to container ships.

All in all, HMB is about 15+ minutes faster, and a lot more
comforatable than Sausalito.

No place to launch in SF that we've found.
