Local shops will save you money in the long run as you will not be buying equipment you end up mothballing. Also, thier prices are not that much higher than the internet offerings and you'll have someone who can provide advice as they will want you back as a customer. Frankly, I'd be leery of buyng a 'package' of gear as some manufacturers are better at some pieces of equipment than others.
