My scuba-diving daughter passed me the link to your NICE find.
Nice work!
A suggestion about the items observed sticking up out of the wings: Squadron signal publications "Aircraft Number 82 TBM/TBF" on pg 29 LL corner shows a TBM-3 with a Yagi Antenna mounted on a mast on top of each wing. Pg. 33 upper left shows a similar antenna arrangement. Pg 10 and 11 show similar antennas mounted under each wing.Pg 15 shows the antenna mounted under the wing and gives good positioning information. In all cases the antenna is used with the ASB radar. ASB was widely used on TBM/TBF ( 26000 ASBs built) was too heavy to go on smaller planes such as Wildcat. Google ASB for more info than you probably want. Keep on Diving!!
