I would suggest a trip to Catalina front-side. You may also want to select a trip that has students - this would ensure that the sites are NOT advanced sites. You did not indicate dates/days - most trips are on the weekends. Only a couple of boats run mid-week trips. The Magician out of San Pedro runs Wednesday trips but I don't know the "normal" experience level of the divers that go on those trips. The Captain, Jerry, could provide that information. As for warmer water - currently the water temp is in the mid to high 50s and during the summer the temps could reach 70. You will need a full 6-7 mm wetsuit - farmerjohn, jacket, hood, booties, gloves (optional). Visibility at Catalina generally range from 20' - 50'. Enjoy
