I did 3 dives at catalina yesterday on the Magician, it was the 1st boat ride with my new camera rig (Nikon D80). I love the camera, and it was great having fast focus, no shutter lag, good lighting from 2 strobes, and lots of detail in the image.

dive stats:
bird rock, 94ft, 54 deg., 62 min, 30-60ft vis
sea fan grotto, 105ft, 54 deg, 63 min, 30ft vis
eel cove, 74ft, 54 deg, 67 min, 30ft vis

Saw lots of Janolus, Cockerell's Dorid, a couple big abs, and 2 pikeblennies.

The magican is a nice boat, gets to catalina fast. I like the crew alot too, they were terrific. good fills. yummy breakfast. vis was good at catalina yesterday.

enjoy the photos!
