I dove the Red Barn on opening day. I was in the water at 7am and out of the water by 7:10am with my limit. I picked my first ab off the bottom in about 8 foot. I dumped it in my float. When I looked back in the water, I spied my second ab on a piece of kelp next to my fin. I put him in my float, looked back in the water and found my third ab in the open. I plucked him and I was done. My friends waiting on shore weren't ab divers, so we packed up and went fishing further up the coast. I only saw one smale perch in the area I was ab diving.

Vis 8 foot. No surf, the reef was blocking the north swell.
