I spoke with the hotel about the incident. They said nothing like that should have ever happened. They are setting up an appointment for me with the American consulate in the morning - I'm not sure why or what good it will do but they said they need to know what is going on.

The worst part is they made me stick my 150 rolls of film through the xray. It is about $1,000 worth of film I am mostly concerned about getting some test rolls shot and processed to see if it was destroyed. Finding in house E6 processing in Cabo San Lucas is not easy. I was going to bring some of my own chemicals but couldn't due to airline restrictions.

So far, you could not get me to come back down here to dive for any reason ever. What I experienced at the airport is enough to sign Mexico off my travel agenda for many years to come. Boat leaves from Mexico - forget it - I'll find another trip. I've been many places and I've never experienced anything close to what I experienced today.
