Too bad we don't have people with vision (like Jeff) in California government (other then the vision of getting re-elected). The rigs to reefs idea has been around for years - its a win-win proposal like the ships to reefs, but the cocktail party circuit just isn't 'with it'. With the way government moves and special interests control, we'd never have a aquaduct to LA or any ot the other great projects of the 20th century. Probably would have lost WW II also.
