I have always considered myself a free diver first and a scuba diver second. I never scuba anywhere. Unless my free diving skills can bring me back home in a emergency. Which rules out all over head diving-wreck, cave,& ice.

Generally I agree with free diving being relaxing and easy. It is also my favorite exercise. In the summer months I free dive swift mountain streams for work outs. Beats a treadmill any day of the week. Just like swimming you can take it easy or push it to the limit.
