My first time out with an external strobe weren't publishable, but back in my day, we didn't have TTL strobes for our digital cameras. We shot manual and we liked it. We thought it was great.

Nice mix of both wide and macro. Did you do a mix both days? Are the shots all pretty much TTL or did you do any experimenting with settings or manual?

Our conditions are tough. Your strobe arms can't be long enough, and even then, there will be backscatter anywhere you have a simple background.

Whatever method you were using, it's a great first outing. I spent a long time doing macro & ttl of nudibranchs and anemones before trying anything more.

Nothing like a warm water trip to really get things wired, though.

thanks again for the ride on saturday. I promise to be on my best behavior if there is a next time.

I'll let you know if elaine stays out of the water this weekend on the sea divers 2 day.
