I'm pretty sure I've read about underwater pinhole camera work, but google didn't turn up anything. I do know of guys doing underwater stereo camera work.

It's actually pretty easy to make a pinhole for a digital camera. You just take a body cap for your camera, drill a large hole in it, and cover the large hole with some foil, and put a pinhole in the foil. Google for "digital pinhole camera" or something like that.
