Remember the first time I met Chris, he wasn't using a BC - just his hardpack. His lungs were his 'BC'. Major advantages: less gear to clean, you never leave it at home, no time in the shop for annual service, free, helps you pounce on bugs, never breaks (if it does you hav other worries). Not sure about his lift capacity though and he'd probably not like us pouring fresh water into his lungs to measure their vital capacity... maybe ~eJ will come up with something!

For any new diver reading this, don't even think about not using a BC! (But you probably don't need 60# of lift for a single tank, either.)

And what the heck are all those D rings for anyway? I once saw a BC that had 3 down each shoulder strap and 2 on each sice of the waist webbing... now if the guy was carrying a HID and 4 extra deco tanks, you could maybe understand.
