When I tested out JohnB's gear I used a tank of air that was over 5 years old. There was no problem with the air and
everything other than the self dis-assembling regulator, went fine.
I was digging in the dungeon and what did I find but a 9 1/2 inch ab that had been forgotten. That's about 19 months since
it was in the ocean. Well, I know they stay well, but I wasn't sure about that time period. After cleaning. it smelled OK.
I went to my sister's house where they worship such dead animals, when properly prepared and seven people ate well. All
survived. I do love macadamia abalone. Every piece was
tender... I cooked all on maximum heat the burner could provide. That's the key.
At the end of it, a birthday cake was brought to the table. I was busy singing Happy Birthday as I always am willing to do,
when much to my surprise, it was pointed out to me that it was for me. Cool, I scored a new large green Trident lobster bag.
In my traditional way, I put out the candles with a practice lobster grab... Got all but one. I guess I've still got it. I'm
gonna have to force myself up to Sea Ranch to re-stock on the abs though.
Enjoy the diving, seahunt
