This is a prime example of why you should travel several days before your live-aboard trip.
Traveling by air just sucks and is stressful and tiring. Going several days before your boat trip allows you to relax and recover from the travel so you can fully enjoy your time on the boat. It also allows time for canceled flights and for your luggage to catch up with you.
That is why I schedule an arrival 3-4 days before the boat leaves.

Palau is small enough the live-aboard can come back for you or have a boat bring you out to it once you are there. I hope both you and your luggage make it.
