I went two days ahead of the Clipperton departure and for the most part found the stay in Cabo stressful and a waste of time and money.

I had a flight problem once (take-off aborted, screaming runway halt, due to a broken fuel pump) on my way to the Soloman Islands. The advice I received was to book one day in advance for transpacific flights.
