You folks on this board might be interested in this post from ba_diving about an exploratory dive on a place to sink a boat in Morro Bay.

Being at the faultline between So Cal and Cen Cal, and without any dive boats to speak of, it will probably take support from the adjacent areas to turn a sinking into a reality.
