The financially 'successful' retailers get that way by squeezing their suppliers costs and shifting as much of the business risk to them as they can get away with. All the better if they can buy thier merchandise from countries that tolerate sweatshop wages and living conditions.

We as consumers support this because we too often purchase the best deal rather than wonder exactly WHY we are getting such a 'deal' and what eventually happens to a country that imports far more than it exports. Then it starts to feed on itself by exporting jobs, further continuing the cycle of decline. Sure a few get rich, but the many suffer.

This saga of our LDB's is a microcosism of what is happening at large in America. Hooray for the Captains Courageous who stood up to this nasty deceptful tactic.

We owe it to these boats to stand with them.

SC doesn't have the boats' financial investment or the licensed Captains to run them. That is the ace in the hole that the smarter boats will recognize, band together and play out.
