I've been a customer of SportChalet since 1980 - first for backpacking and camping gear and later for scuba classes and gear (in the late 90's). Used to drive over 40 miles to go to the La Canada store before their expansions to other parts of California.

I've sadly seen the quality and service levels drop from what used to be a first-class, sports-oriented operation. Now most are clothing stores that happen to sell entry-level sporting goods.

With this nasty boat escapade, I will NEVER step foot into a SportChalet again for ANY merchandise.

I'd change my mind if they were to reinstate their original agreements with the boats AND apologize to the diving community.

I think that's the way Norbert would have made it right.
