I don't know why other boats would take this lousy deal - its a money loser unless they also squeeze in a few extra passengers and crowd thier boats.

I could see this deal if SC would do a better job marketing their boat trips. Unless you REALLY want to dive SC, you'd never know they did charters. So you're not seeing any marketing advantage here.... better off running an ad in CDN.

The losers would be the divers who would be basically subsidizing SC instructors, asst instructors and DM's. We'd have to deal with more crowding as the boats have to increase loads of non-SC divers to make up lost revenues.

Given the loss of a few local dive boats in the past couple of years, the Captains should be seeing thier loads increase. The Encore, Liberty, Aquatica haven't really been replaced yet. The boats should stick together - don't see any Captains driving Ferraris.
