We did 3 dives yesterday at Anacapa off the dive boat "Raptor", owned by the Ventura dive and sport shop.

this is a small, fast boat (no kitchen or bunks) with very little room on it, which actually didn't bother me that much, because you spend very little time on the boat. Time to anacapa is very short, and surface intervals are short (gate times strictly enforced). This is a good boat to take if you want 3 quick dives, and an early return to the dock (leave at 8AM, back by 3PM). No compressor on board, they provide steel 85's. The DM Kathy is very nice and helpful. donuts/coffee provided for breakfast, and self-serve tuna/mayo & bbq pulled pork sandwiches, watermelon and brownies for lunch. $115 for 3 dives.

Landings cove was nice, but the 2nd and 3rd dive sites were pretty barren imho. Both were on the north side of anacapa.

Vis was a murky 25ft. 3 dry dives in my drysuit, yippee!

dive stats:

dive #1 (landings cove)
105mm lens, 70 min, 44ft, 64 degrees
first ones in, last ones out. critters seen include lots of navanax, quite a few nudies, kelpfish. One diver saw a GSB.

dive #2 (winfield scott)
16mm lens, 60 min, 38ft, 64 degrees, surface interval 42 min, average depth 20-25ft
critters: lots of sea hares, not much else. Mike saw a leopard shark & bat ray

dive #3 (near winfield scott)
16mm lens, 57 min, 39ft, 62 degrees, surfave interval 39 min, average depth 20-25ft
critters: lots of sea hares, 3 bat rays, a couple lobster, not much else.
