Galapagos Trip Report |
Posted by Hollywoodivers on July 10, 2007 at 13:49:02: We had both Aggressors chartered this time. The water temp was a little cooler than last time 2005. We were there 2007 June 28 to July 5th and Water temp around Baltra was 68 degrees. In the North at Darwin Island it was 74....This is the best dive site on the planet. We saw too many whale sharks to count sometimes two at one time swimming together. The Hammerheads were way more plentiful this time....I saw more than one thousand over the 3 days at Wolf/ Darwin...could not count them all. I videotaped a large green morray regurgitating another eel it had eaten....the eels fought for it and then the sharks moved in. Craaaazzzzy. We took 26 people and all 26 had a blast...we will book it again for sure. Also the aggressor fleet still for the time being has permission to do land tours. We saw blue footed boobies feeding their chicks and Frigate birds trying to catch a mate....Marine Iguanas, Penquins and Sealions man what an awesome place.. Visited the sea shepard station and they reported they found a longline boat trying to catch sharks...3 miles of long line...tell all your freinds to walk out of resturants that sell sharkfin soup. Shark fin soup is a rip off it's 50 bucks per bowl and has no nutritional value at all. The myth that it is an aphrodisiac is total bull crap...get a hotter partner or take some viagra..or some tequila...these fisherman want to kill everything in Galapagos as long as there is a dollar in it. The galapagos is going through lot's of political change. Please visit and conserve. Please help protect this magical place.
