I would think it is illegal too Chris, but I have seen it for
sale in feeeze dried foil packages as recently as this past
winter... in a Long Beach... at a mom & pop grocery store...
on W. Willow Ave... somewhere W of the 710 Fwy.

Do ya think that for the price the fins fetch, someone actually
ships in entire shark carcas to the US only to use the fins
once here? I hope not. But perhaps that's how the list of local
restaurants procures this "mystical magical" ingredient. I have
eaten shark fin soup overseas and I have to say I wasn't
impressed.
