We call those stick men up here.
While cleaning the sponges and growth off the bottoms of boats in Bodega Bay I've had those things stuck to me by the thousands.
I've had my drysuit zipper flap, pee zipper flap, glove cuffs, arounds my mask packed so full of those things I had to remove hand fulls of them and throw them back in the water before having somebody hose me down with a pressure washer to try and hose off the rest. They dig their claws into anything they can and don't like to come off.
After I clean my suit I have to lay it out in the sun to dry out any that are still stuck on, then after they're dry they come off with a bristle brush. I made the mistake of trying to dry my suit in a cool shady place and the dead stick men started to stink to high hell after a few days.
