Picture from the Channel Island Divers website. A witness reported that his buddy was still underwater during the recovery. It was not known if he/she lost sight of Mark of if he headed up on his own, but if the reports of an empty tank and full BC are true, he may have paniced when he ran out of air and bolted to the surface. He was diving in only in 36 feet.
He was a frequent poster on Diver.net and had been diving for many years.
