Used to dive southern CA years ago before I moved up to the Bay Area. Just this week, I found this BBS and started thinking about getting back into it. The sites and comments I've come across have given me pause - logically, I know there's more chance of getting hit by lighting than attacked by a shark, but it still gives me cause to pause. Others may be doing more than pausing - they might be saving up their dives for when they are on vacation/trips in other places.
