Taka II: economical |
Posted by Karen on August 04, 2007 at 07:42:59: In Reply to: Recomendations for Great Barrier Reef? posted by JRM on August 03, 2007 at 18:56:08: I did a week trip on the Taka II out to the Coral Sea and the GBR. I had a very good time. The food was plentiful and good. The staff was great. It is a very economical trip and certainly not luxurious by any stretch. I didn't care much about the luxury (or lack thereof). The schedule didn't really allow for much lounging around. Get up. Dive. Eat. Dive. Eat. Dive. Eat. Dive again. Go to bed. I would use them again. The money that I saved by using Taka II instead of Mike Ball (whom I did consider) allowed me to do a "outback safari" - a weeklong trip to the outback to see aboriginal pictoglyphs. Fantastic! The trip left out of Cairns so it was easy to coordinate with the dive trip. Enjoy! -Karen
