A large group of us got together for a morning dive to the Long Wharf at Will Rogers State Beach. Of the ten of us, only Joe Raemer had dived the site before. He dived it from a boat. The visibility was poor, real poor. There were spots where it opened up to over a foot, but quickly closed again. Mostly it was one to six inches. Joe and Greg Cooke were the only ones to find the pilings. Greg brought back a small piece of wood as proof. Merry found a shard from an old piece of pottery, plus three new shells to identify. I never turned my camera on in the water. We'll have to try this site again when the vis improves, now that we know where the pilings are. Thanks to Lisa, Kevin, Dennis, Rev. Al, Joe, Greg, Jeff, Sue and Merry for joining me for the search.
The beach was the filming location for Baywatch. Although we met a female lifeguard, Al was disappointed it wasn't Pamela Anderson.
