I last heard from Melvin on June 16th. At the time he was adjusting to a somewhat new position in the Baghdad Operations Center (BOC) and living in the Green Zone. The BOC commands all Iraqi forces (army, police, national police) in Baghdad. From what I understand about Iraq (and it is not much) the Green Zone is one of the safest places in Iraq to do your tour of duty. Stuff happens there too though.

In June he was expecting (planning? hoping?) to be back here in the States in October.

His diving dance ticket is going to be really full when he returns!
